1976 and 1977 taillights are the same. What identifies this car is a 1976 is the header panel/grille assemblies. This particular Grand LeMans is missing it's rear trim applique.

Knew a Black over Black interior 77 GT around the 1988 time frame. At the time had a great body and interior engine had issues after and oil change and the guy who owned it let it go back to the lot that sold it to him.

Looking back I shoulda bought it for what he owed.

BUt there was a Pontiac that did not include the trim applique in 1977?? Maybe its a 4 door car that Im thinking of.

Base Lemans didn't have the trunk trim in 76 or 77, see my lower pic here of a brown 76

76 LeMans grille had simple horizontal line in grille, while 77's had busy verticle lines.

The base models had plain trunk lids, as did Jackie Gleason's sheriff Buford's LeMans in "Smokey & Bandit". Also, that DVAP car is a base model, no Sport Coupe badge.
