I get wheel hop and less-than-perfect traction in my street-only 455 Trans Am.

To remedy the problem, I was thinking of getting traction bars (Competion Engineering, $149).

But Summit also lists lift bars (Stainless Steel Machine, $99) which it advertises as "better than traction bars".

1. What is the functional difference between traction bars and lift bars?
2. Is there a difference in ride between the two?
3. Which application do you think is better for this street-only application?

The lift bars are 33% cheaper, and sound like a better deal...if all other things are equal.

Thanks

The South Side Machine bars pre-load your suspension so your ride will be stiffer. The comp bars do not pre-load so you will be able still have a decent ride. I use the South Side bars on my car & they work great at the track but they will raise the rear of your vehicle & give you a stiffer ride.

Another option get some Tri City Engineering launcher springs. Copies of Mopar Super Stock springs for GMs.
