Default Carb thread repair

It is apparent that while setting up my carb I have been a bit careless. I have managed to strip one of the main body squirter threads. Since there are slots through the threads is it repairable or is the main body now junk?
I have seen a few threads and vids of thread repair inserts. Would it be possible to do then somehow recut the slots?
Would it be viable to fill the hole with JB Weld, Devcon or another product then drill, tap and cut slots, or is that just silly?

I have done drilling and tapping for set screws, but since I have never done a thread repair insert and this one looks tricky I will more likely send the carb out.
Frank.

I don’t have a carb apart to check out, but there might be more undrilled and taped meat at the bottom of that stripped out hole .

If so there might be a chance for you to use a longer machine screw and catch enough new threads to get some ok clamping power.

some high flow squirter screws are hollow, holes drilled all over the place swiss cheese without the swiss or cheese...

if you were to helicoil and obstruct the original fuel path one of these hold down screws might work

I thought about that but it looks like a longer screw would contact the check needle then not allow any fuel to pass. I'll have a closer look and do some measuring. The screws are the hollow type and if I replace it with a non hollow I think I would lose some pump shot.

If it's the threads for the squirters, it's a "machining operation", not recommended to DIY. Shaker 455 does them.
