Default 1973 formula hood moulding

Will a 1974 camaro hood and fender mouldings fit properly on my 73 formula hood?

I don't know for sure, but I would think it would not be?
The Formula hood is fiberglass, which I think is thicker than a steel hood?

Might have to check a parts book.

Hmmm....
Your right on the listings.

I never actually compared mine to the TA chrome.
Would have thought the Formula hood was thicker where it attached.

No definitely on the Camaro fender top trim as it is much smaller/shorter than the firebird. I'd also doubt the Camaro hood trim as a consequence. Believe it or not, the 70-81 Camaro top of door molding is up to 1/2" plus longer than a firebird. I know from personal experience.

... prompted me to walk into my garage where I conveniently have a TA hood and Formula hood stacked adjacent on their sides.

Formula hood and TA hood are indeed the same thickness at the back. The Formula hood is only the outer skin of fiberglass at the back. The inner panel fiberglass stops about a half inch from the rear edge. The T/A hood has the outer panel metal hemmed/folded around the inner panel metal. So it's three layers of metal thick at the back. Three layers of metal appears to be about the same thickness as the one layer of fiberglass...

Not sure I'm remembering this right, doesnt the Camaro trim have a completely different profile than the Firebird? If I recall theirs resembles the trim pieces on the fender and door top exactly where ours is a flatter design.

Are you referring to the rear hood decor strip? No, Camaro and Firebird completely different, a Firebird hood is narrower across it meaning longer fender corner pieces to meet the doors.
