No "CA" would mean it's an open rear end. "CA" would be for a "limited slip" or "posi" rear.

You can add a posi - that's not that big of a deal. But 2.41 gears are kind of tall.

Posi would be really usefull here in finland. Quite often you find yourself whit only one wheel on the road because bad roads or ice.

I've been driving on snow and ice (I live in Minnesota) all my life.
Back in the 70's I never had a car with a limited slip rear end and managed to get around just fine in cars very similar in size to your Grand Prix. Some of the cars I drove back in the 70's were a 1960 Bonneville, a 1962 Olds Jetfire, a 1966 Chevy Malibu, a 1969 Chevy Biscayne, a 1971 Camaro, a 1974 Hornet Wagon, 1974 Chevrolet Malibu, a 1976 Pontiac Ventura, a 1979 Chevy Caprice and a 1979 Pontiac Grand LeMans. Not a single posi in the bunch. These are some "snow" shots from my hometown: BTW - I'm Finnish on my mother's side. Her maiden name was Bentilla. |
