Default Ac components and a c muffler hose clamps

I'm looking at my parts car and the ac lines to the a/C muffler are tightened with hose clamps will that work? Is that correct or where they crimped? My car is a 70 formula 400 auto

Original Air... is where i bought my stuff . they also reset my POA valve for 134 and upgraded my condenser

the hose and clamp kit they also have .

The foam I sourced from a foam shop on internet . don't remember site.

I only used pipe insolation for hose . don't like that much, may look for better product there.

POA – an abbreviation for Pilot Operated Absolute – valves are suction valves used to prevent the AC system's evaporator from getting so cold that it freezes. In some air conditioning systems, this function is handled by a thermostat.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but the factory AC used the POA and this keeps the compressor running at all times while the AC is on. Other systems with a thermostat will cycle the compressor on and off to regulate the evaporator temperature. I recall there was some company making a conversion to swap out the POA to a thermostat system. There are pros and cons to both styles with wide temp swings or rapid cycling of the compressor being the main ones that can occur with the thermostat. I believe for the POA to work best you will need one compatible with R134A if you decide to change over from R12.

that's correct . my post said I had my POA valve recalibrated. A/C will not operate correctly on 134 if you don't update the setting. this will cause the A6 compressor to cycle. These compressors take about 14 H.P. to run. That compressor cycling you will feel when driving . The conversion device shuts the compressor on and off.

a 70 car should have the newer condenser up graded to the newer F body design also
