69 GTO wiper switch help
Last year I replaced the dash trim plates which required removing headlite switch and wiper switch. I think I messed up re-installing wiper switch because it would sometimes shock me and wipers only worked on one speed. This year I have the seats out for re-covering and can get to it easier so I took it apart again. There appears to be a grounding strap coming from above the switch location that I believe should go on the rear of the lower mounting foot where there are copper contacts. I didn't do that before because I was doing it by feel and couldn't see what was going on. Last year I had pushed the switch in from behind the dash and had the grounding strap between the rear of dash and the front of the mounting foot where there was no electrical contact. Can anyone verify the correct procedure so I can do it right this time? Thanks for your help. Matt

It is supposed to be grounded to the dash. I can't seem to find you a picture though.

Here are some original drawings from GM. Covers many of the ground straps for 1969 and 1970 cars.

Thanks very much! I am amazed that you could come up with that kind of documentation!
