Does anyone know production of the 74's with the red, white and blue stripe down the side?Or the orange and white combo? I have one that is rusty but a high option car with original paint that has this stripe. Any info would be great!!!

The strip color is determined by the body color unless the car is white or black. If it is either of these two colors the interior will dictate the stripe color.
I have not seen a breakdown on how many cars came with the side stripes as an option.

Don't know, but think there were only 53 black cars produced, and they were special order. I saw one at GTO nats in 1993 that was same combo with red/white/blue stripe.

Thank you 74gto for the insight. Mine is an original 2546 Buccaneer Red.

I was thinking of the re-do in the "Starlight Black" can you confirm this was the correct color for the special order and perhaps paint code if available.

The engine is is about to get the good to go, I am still just making a final key path, decision on stroking it with a crank from a 400 or just take the 10 thousand in a bore? Your thoughts and any other insights would be appreciated, as I start the process.

Black is black and there really isnt a special mix for it unless you have a metallic black. ultimategto.com has tons of info for paint, interior, engine codes etc etc. for the 74 GTO and is a great website.
A black car with red interior would certainly have the red white and blue stripe and decals.
Good luck with your build!

I have decided to sell the project... so 74 original GTO for sale, whle or in parts.
There are three hoods available, all the hard to find GTO specific parts are there:
Ram Air scoop, GTO specific door panels, Front grills with insert lights, console...etc.

First come first served on the whole project, or after a week or so I will start the part out process. Vehicle is in the Vancouver, BC Canada area.

Only serious inquiries please, don't have the patience for nonsence, Thanks dt.

You need to post it in the "for sale" area.
How much you asking?

I have it posted in the for sale and the parts for sale sections as well:

I am asking $2,800.00 for all of it.
