I would be interested in them John. We spoke on the phone a while back looking for a set of hood scoops as well. Steve

I can finally make good parts!

Nice fit too!

The factory scoop is the one in front mine #2, Early Birds #3, The Parts place #4.

The side air extractors,
Mine on the right, original on the left.

The Parts Place on the right, original on the left.

Early birds on the right, original on the left.

Some one heard I was making Carbon fiber stuff and showed up at my shop with a carbon fiber hood vent off Ken Blacks WRX rally car. He wants me to copy it and make the mirror image vent for the other side. I am almost done with one side. He had only three of the fins, but I am making more.

His three fins in the frame we made.

Let me know if there is something you want made in Carbon fiber.

Email me for prices of these parts in fiberglass.

Beautiful work. I wish you'd had these available when I bought my hood and fenders scoops.

$700 dollars for reproduction hood inserts
Isn't that price a little high?

Go buy the other ones for $150 a set. Or do you even need a set?

Quality isn't cheap, but they wouldn't work for your car anyways.

I laid up the hood mold in carbon fiber today. I will pull it out of the mold in the morning.

Before resin.

Vacuum bagging.

After resin, vacuum bagging and trimming

I had some problems with my part sticking in my mold, but I got it out of the mold. I am fixing the surface of this skin and setting up to try and make another.

The bids started at $400.00 (reserve not met, but still not $700).
Superteen, did you read this entire post? The quality of work is FANTASTIC!!! His parts fit better than the GM stuff!

Nice job Mr. Haley!
How's about building some second gen T/A stuff?

Im sure the fit & quality of the work on the top of them is great
but for $700 the backs better be as good as the tops
and from the pics to me there not $700 FANTASTIC....

The back of my parts are far better than the back of the others offered. If you can do better, lets see it!!

Amazing what you've accomplished.
My nieghbor mess's with CF, and wants to try'n make stuff for my 68 FB.
One is the head lamp mounting brackets with the sealbeam retaining buckets incorporated in.
Think it would be strong enough to hold the sealbeams?
I've been searching for a set of the old Wagner plastic lamps, but no luck.

Mike,
Look on eBay for the H4 plastic lights. They have a replacable capsule and the Polycarb lens are strong and light (haha- "light").

Looking better, but I do have some air bubbles, I think I can fix them.

The orange color around the edges is just clay that needs to be wiped off.

Looking cool John - show up around the import boys with one of those on your car - see what happens.

John-

A few technical questions.

How do you bond the two halves of the hood?
What is the purpose of the vacuum bagging?

Thanks-
john
