Default Swaping on a 70-73 nose

Old Dallas high school hot rod friend picked up a basket 78 and wants to swap on an early nose. Don't tell me to do a search only a couple popped up-and said do a search only vague what parts are needed. I remember one guy here posted pictures of his 81 he swapped the nose and welded in the tail panel for an early one. Really nice job but forgot who. Anyone remember that thread?

I would guess front fenders are different mounting since the nose is different-and associated brackets. Front spoiler. Know Shaker and base are different and assume hood is also.

Any Dallas Ft Worth folks have extra parts?

Early front fenders have an extra bracket for mounting, but I cant imaging that something cant be figured out to make things work. Hood is def. diff.

Pretty easy to do.

The nose mounts on big brackets that bolt to the subframe, so make sure you have those. The 70-72 radiator supports are different from the 73+, but you can mount the early nose regardless of what radiator support you have, they all work.

The fenders will have mounting tabs for the later style nose on them, but don't interfere with the mounting of the early nose. The early fenders had mounting tabs for the lower valance, which can be sourced or made from some sheet metal. You can also mount the valance up by drilling a small hole on the metal lip of both the valance and fender, and use a small bolt to connect the two. It'll be behind the marker light, so you'll never see it.

The spoilers are different from the earlier cars, which are more rounded compared to the squarer looking ones on the later cars. The shaker is round compared to the 77-81 cars. You can mix and match parts and they'll work.

There was a member here that had swapped an early clip onto his 76 TA that he bought new. I am not sure he he posted details of the swap. His user name was Murfsdad. He quit posting in 2011. I pm'd him with no response....he was a professional chef, in Canada. Had spoken of retiring in near future. I hope he didn't die off on us!?
