Default 1981 Turbo Trans Am Carb Question

The books say 17081274 is correct carb for 1981 turbo 301, but have seen several people saying 17081273 is correct. I thought the first number was right. Which is correct?

Looking for a carb for a friend.

I believe the number you're looking for is a 17081270
IIRC I have one;
I seem to recall that there was something unique about the 301-T Quadrajets versus others.

17081273 is definitely the correct carb # for a 1981 turbo t/a. i have 2 of them here & have had a couple others. i have a spare i would sell but it needs a complete rebuild.

the difference on the 81 carbs is they are the first year to have computer control mixture solenoids.

The 17080274 is what I believe my 1980 301T has. big difference is the 17080274 has the remote vacuum signal PEVR (forgot what that stands for) that controls the carbs internal primary meetings rods / fuel mixture, & the 17080273 is still remote, but electronically controlled.

Been quite a few years since I did any research on these turbo carbs, but both are different from each other.

One would think the following year would be a part number higher, but its numerically lower.
