Default how much torque and hp from my econobuild 464?

I've got a fresh 455 @ .040 = 464
stock rods, speed pro pistons; the block was trued but not zero decked.
stock 6x-4 heads that were trued but not milled, ported or gasket matched.
New valves were installed, retaining the 1.66 exhaust valve. 94 cc, about 9.5:1.
new, stamped steel 1.5" rockers, rhoads lifters.
melling 041 clone.
Rebuilt quadrajet with cliff's recommended kit.
Stock iron 1972 intake.
RA headers.

Runs great.
I'm no racer. I'm just curious.
I did a search and found some similar builds but not exactly the same and none had numbers.

380 to 400 hp. Maybe 500 torque around 3800. Out of breath around 4800 to 5000 rpm.

I’d say 370hp and 460 torque.

With headers 390 hp.

Simple and easy, a nice build.

@9.5:1 results could depend on fuel octane.
My assumption would be closer to 350 peak HP, and 460 Torque at a much lower RPM.
MOST all people Never "DRIVE" their engine anywhere near the peak HP and the engineers built the driveline around your peak Torque being IN your driving range.
No Dyno can Measure HP, they Only measure Torque. All HP numbers are calculations based on Torque and some other variables punched into the dyno.

This is what I would predict. A very good combo, I have one in my "72 LeMans.

Here are intake flow numbers tested on my bench from two different sets of 100% stock 6X-4 heads.

Out of all four heads , I flow tested 1 of the 8 ports that to my trained eye Looked the best and I also judge them for the least amount of core shift which would be another factor in the ports flowing the best.

On both ports that I tested I freshen up the valve job which sunk the valve maybe .003” and the flow test was done with a new stock nail head type intake valve.

Note, the OD of the factory valve job leaves a lot of added flow producing curtain area on the table!

The third column I post here is the maximum HP that could be made with a combo like yours.

This assumes 100% volumetric efficiency which is something that you with your combo will not achieve since you are pumping the exh out thru manifolds.

Due to this you should temper the HP numbers posted here by 10%, so yes motors built like yours would be doing well to make a 90% VE number.

I will calculate the HP number I post here from the highest flow number of these two ports tested.

Note that with a build like yours that once the motor reaches the rpm where peak torque is achieved that for the most part the intake port area that the heads have has been tapped out!

Flow @ 28”

Lift..........CFM....................HP

.100” 77.6.——78.3————-

.200” 134.9—-145.——-

.300” 179.9—-179.8——-

.400” 198.3—-203———417

.450” 202.4—206.5——-424

.500” 206.3—-208———-429

.550” 207.5—-211————-434

.600” 208.6—-213————438

If you where running a .500”lift cam then that 429 HP tempered by 10% drops down to 386 HP, and even that’s still being a tad generous with having under 10 to 1 compression!

The 66 tripower with its big end carbs and those shorter runners helps to allow motors to make better top end hp and hold on to it a tad longer before it really starts to nose over.
The 525 ft lb is killer!

Real nice numbers Paul!!

A 64 tripower intake while better then a single 4 bbl AFB intake can’t hold a flame to a 67 and up 4 bbl intake!

Maybe around 300 rear wheel horsepower, depending on manual or automatic and what converter.
