Default First snow of the season

An 'Alberta Clipper' is coming through, bringing the first snow of the season. It's only supposed to be an inch or two, and it's still early enough in the year that it should melt in the next day or so.

We got an inch last week, real early for us. Lots of the tree's still have big leaves on them so we had major power outages due to fallen branches.
Been cold here for the last week as well, not good for this time of year. Hopefully this isn't a trend of what is to come the winter. Already had the generator running.
Some winters we don't even use it.

The way they were talking about this on the local news last night, I figured we must be having the 'Blizzard of 2023'!

Woke up to a whole inch of snow...

Old man winter is way too early this year...nothin like putting up the Halloween 🎃 decorations in a foot of ❄ snow...

Ya, we had a bit of snow last week as temperatures dropped below freezing. It showed up like over night. Since that it's warmed back up a bit into the plus side of freezing. 6C or 43 today. All the white stuff melted away. Was actually a nice Halloween.

Keep it up there, Stuart. Got too many leaves to deal with before the snow starts to fly down here.

My lawn care service was scheduled to be out this week to clean up the leaves but the snow got in the way. It will be gone in the next day or two and then hopefully they'll be able to get out to do it. I have a lot of big trees so my yard has a thick blanket of leaves.

When we lived in SE Wisconsin we had three enormous sugar maples in our front yard. They held onto their leaves until the week of Thanksgiving, then they would drop en mass. Wouldn’t you know it; we usual got our first snow the day after Thanksgiving, which meant the leaves would spend the winter under the snow because you can’t mulch leaves that are under a couple feet of snow.

That's nice weather in the summer, but it's not summer. Don't think I'd enjoy your summer temps.

It's been in the 20's and 30's here earlier this week. Today it's in the 40's. Windbreaker weather - which is still pretty nice - and appropriate for November.

We’re supposed to be in the seventies here Monday through Wednesday then back to more seasonable weather toward the weekend. Just came in from the yard after mowing and trimming; it’s nice out there (59 degree F with 34% humidity).
