Default 1966 Pinstripe

I know my 66 GTO needs a black pinstripe , but is it the '65 single line style or the '67 double line style ?

Single, painted, stripe as others have offered is correct per all my research. Don't know about the size. Somewhere on this forum is a post on the subject, I will try to find it as time permits.

1966 single pinstripe.

Same width as a 65.

Would love to see more pics of that car. I always liked a white on red car.

So 5 years later my car is about painted and ready for the pinstripe.

I find stencil kits for a 66, but nothing for a '66 . anyone know of a kit for '66 ? if not I'll have to see if I can find a pinstripe guy to do it I suppose.

If you are ever in the Houston Texas area, look me up! I am a pinstriper by trade, with 35 years under my belt, and have striped many 65 thru 67 GTO's. I have also been a Pontiac guy since my parents purchased a new Catalina wagon in 1970.

I'm getting ready to have this done finally.

I'm a little unclear after looking at the pictures, is the strip to go above or below the body line?

Maybe these two views will help. Looks like the front views in the pics above are certainly in the ball park. The color pic is a part of the cover shot on a 66 GTO specific resto book, maybe be copyrighted material

Here is my original '66 GTO pinstripe recorded for posterity. This is a July '66-built Fremont car.

Mine is a Freemont also. so about 3/4" above the line it seems.

He's supposed to come do it tomorrow.

Default Pinstripe

Original photo (JAN '66) that includes a good view of the pinstripe (black paint with "bone" stripe).
