Ram Air starter 1108436
What is the physical difference between a ram air starter part number 1108436 and a standard GTO starter 1108435? I am looking for a correct 1108436 if anybody has one. Probably difficult to find. thanks

Might have something to do with R.A./H.O./S.D. exhaust manifolds? The 348 switch were almost three times the price of the 356. Me too looking for a 1108436 starter dated before oct 1969. |

Not sure if there is a visual difference, but according to the Delco parts listing they have the same field winding and armature. But that is the replacement parts listing, dont know if that was true at the factory. As mentioned the solenoid part numbers are different. The 70 shop manual on page 6E-44 has a table listing the 8436 having a solenoid part #1114366. I bring this up because it is the shop manual that also gives you the original coil #1115410 that was a factory installed part with the coil having the raised numbers 410 on it. The parts books call out 1115238 as the replacement ignition coil. Is it possible the 1114348 solenoid is just the replacement used on the 8436. Maybe someone who has an original starter with solenoid can chime in who knows what the number is stamped on it.
