is that front end from a V8 car?
That solid axle is going to be sweet.

It's actually not as heavy as I thought. I dragged it out by myself pretty easily.

I don't know. The car did have a V8 in it and there are no other motor mounts. But I don't know one crossmember from another for sure.

By any chance do you still have the original 326 engine & are you going to be selling it anytime soon? I saw that you had other parts & they were going to be on ebay soon. What's your Ebay seller name? Thanks,. Pete

Sorry, I didn't get the engine with the car. I will be selling the entire front nose in pieces, and some other small things under the hood. My ebay name is fat52gmc. If you want something let me know though. I don't want to deal with ebay if I don't have to.

Well it looks like I won't be building this car after all. I started really digging into it today and it is much worse than I thought.

I already bought a straight axle and a few thousand in parts to build a straight axle car, so I will do one but it might not be a Pontiac.

I'd like to find another 63 in better shape but considering this is the first one I've ever seen around here it most likely won't happen.

I am parting my car out in the swap section if anyone is looking for anything.

I left the front wheels on and rolled it out from under the car.

Glad to hear you whimped out on the build up. You aren;t a Pontiac guy anyway and it sounds like it was going to get a chebbie. Better not to see it get built than to get built with a chebbie.
Maybe a Pontiac guy will buy it and build it the right way. If it that rusty, it may be a great tube car candidate. Find yourself a nova or something.
Good luck chebbie man.

I'm starting to get the impression that you don't really care for chevy powered Pontiacs.

When you narrow it down to "Chevy powered Pontiacs", Steve ain't alone in disliking them.

Wow. You really know how to hurt a guy. I'm crushed.

You're right though. I am not a " Pontiac man". I try not to be so narrow minded when it comes to the hobby. I am capable of seeing more than the badges on the fenders.

Besides the more diverse you are, the more there is to enjoy.

Chebbie man

One of my all time favorite cars is Rod Bruce's '65 GTO "ZOMBIE". It is what inspired me to put the straight axle in and build a blowen 455 for my LeMans. Rob's GTO had a chevy motor in it and it still was the coolest car at the SSDI show years ago. I wouldn't put a chevy in my car, but that GTO was very cool.

Thumbs up

this one? That's the look I'm kinda going for in my 65 gasser. I won't copy it but I like the no-bumper look and the straight axle. Mine will be hot rod black for now with a chromed front drilled I-beam dropped axle. I'm putting a naturally aspirated 600+ HP stroked 455 roller motor in it. Gotta come up with a name for it. I love the name Zombie. Something along those lines would be cool. Just haven't thought of one yet.

Ok. We took a long hard look at the car and went over some ideas and decided to go through with the build.

It will take alot longer than we expected but thats ok. I wanted a project and this is that for sure.

If you guys are really that dead set against it being Chevy powered and would rather not follow the build I won't bother you with it any more.

I will be looking for parts and advice from time to time however and will apreciate any help I can get here.

Tim

Not all of us are dead against it, but it's a bummer. I'll never build one with a chevy but I now it's definately cheaper. I'd like to stay in touch regardless. I saw your posts on the HAMB. I go by Gas_Tires_Oil there. So, whether its here or on the HAMB I'll see ya.

Phil
