Default What does M6 stand for?

Hello, I have a question.... Since discovering this site, I have seen where many members refer to their GTO as an M6. What does the M6 stand for? How would I know if my GTO is an M6? Mine is a 2006. Thanx...

For the auto cars people usually refer to them as "A4" because the tranmission used is a automatic 4-speed.
