Default Trunk Lid Removal

Need some help again guys. What is the best and safest way to unhook and remove the torsion bars for the trunk lid ? I have the trunk lid off of the hinges. BTW: 65 Catalina.

I use a long 3/8 drive socket extension
put the female end of the extension on the end of the rod
