Default 64 GP interior install.

So I decided it is time to swap the interior from red to black

Man, it's a lot of work to prep a 50 year old car for a new interior! Wow!

But we have made a lot of progress since the start of it all

The dash was quite involved

Cleaned the whole inside with a cup brush on a 5" grinder. Welded new patches under the rear seat and a small one in the passenger foot well from a leaky heater core

I decided all of the interior paint, around the door jams and window openings will need redone and painted the final black before assembly. Then I can mask off the reveals when the exterior gets done (cash is limited)

Around the rear window and windshield have been epoxy primed. Side windows and door jams are next. Then a flat black top coat on the inside and black base clear around the openings.

I'm $4k Canadian deep into the interior so far.

Updates as I accomplish something lol

The old man helped quite a bit! Mostly moral support and small stuff (he's 73, that's his Ford in the background.) He's moved back East so i'm on my own. Hopefully i can keep the momentum going!

The main (painted steel) dash panel on '62s are welded to the body...and the large opening for the chrome panel is like a knife's edge from the stamping process!

Looking close at the transmission hump - is this a car you put a 200 transmission in?

Finally got some paint laid down. Took on some dust during the clear coat phase but a nib file some sand paper and polish should clean them up.
I need to modify the exhaust system in the shop to pull more air out. Soon that will be done

Clear coat seems to make its own dirt for crying out loud. I had next to no dirt during the paint stage!
Cromax mosaic Super Jet Black and LE8700S Clear. The clear is super nice
