My 2 cents - get a new fan. I like to keep and fix things, so I get what you're attempting. I haven't done this repair, so maybe you'll get a more informed opinion.
Way i see it, you have 2 or 3 problems that could result from this repair: Stress cracks in the bent back metal, out of balance fan, and because the fan is out of balance your water pump bearing goes. Good luck

If you have any cracks, the blades can come apart. If you a the least bit worried about it , replace it. Fan blades can come off at amazing speeds embedding in the hood or you.

From the safety aspect I would not try to repair a fan, seen too many blades shear off and go partially through the hood.
I also met a guy that was under the hood revving a blazer W/SBC that had the rivets failed and caught the blade with his face. Very disfiguring, even after corrective surgery. BTW, you don't have to have the engine at or near red line for them to fail. The first one I had fail was just loafing along with a 6 cylinder chevy truck, and it damn near went through the hood. Just my experiences, make up your own mind. |

No and its just not worth it. But if you want to be venturous, talk to a boat prop repair guy. They're magicians when it comes to fixing destroyed props.

Ouch, hope it wasnt the cat?
To much deflection just replace it with a used one as to not lose patina. Cheers |

I have a used fan that I have no use for. I believe C70 is the date code (March 1970). $100.00 plus shipping, PM me if you're interested.

Go to the Lobby section and read about the 10th Anniversary Trans Am with a fan blade sticking through the hood.
