So long story I had my carbs redone by APD and they came back with 182 jets in them, I talked to them and they said it was a good starting point, we’ll I thought that 182 isn’t enough jet so I installed what I had in the other carbs 212. Didn’t get a chance to pull plus plug do this last time run today I went to 200 and ran the same mph as yesterday.....any thoughts? Just curious.

Well damn........got my butt kick first round in the Quick 8, I miss tree a tad and spun the tires (of course it’s 94 degrees out)! So I made 6 passes, oil pressure good and haven’t touched it, I’ll take it for the first time out!

I don't know how you do it in that heat. You must have a steel firewall and a -5 fire suit.

Congrats on the good runs.

I’m done racing this weekend, I tried to make a pass today but the track prep wouldn’t hold my engines power. I’m sure the 95 degree temps didn’t help but I’ve been in Kentucky in 101 temps and hooked. Anyways the car/engine is in one piece so I’m happy!

Yes.
Normally if I don’t have anything in my pan there is nothing in filter.

Along with the above mentioned PM work to my engine I also retorqued the heads (120 center studs & 115 on the rest) and checked the lash on my valves. Oh I'm also getting new slick mine are toast!

How many passes do you average on a set of slicks, George?

Well I bought me a new pair of slicks, I looked at my old ones and decided they were dead.......dont know how many passes on them ill try to figure it out later. Got my slicks on and the car is loaded up on the trailer for my next race (July 24-26) at Milan (Detroit Dragway Reunion), its basically a 3 day race......Friday is a test and tune day with a Gamblers race mixed in and Saturday is the Official race, Sunday is Milans normal Dragrace day. Friday i plan on making a couple of passes back to back with some jet changes and plug reading so Sat & Sun I wont have to touch it! I hope its not a 95+ degree weekend again!

I’m back from Milan and it wasn’t a great weekend. My 2nd Timed pass on Friday I broke a blower belt, guess I should have changed it a while ago it’s a poly chain Kevlar belt, i didn’t have a spare, I have never thrown a belt of broke one......I’m bad my fault even at 66 I’m stil learning! On a positive note it went 8.08 when I tossed the belt 7 sec into the run about 800-900 for from the starting line! Going to order 2 belts, live and learn.
