Default 1967 gto battery hold down

I have a fairly early build 11-c 1967 gto HO .what does the original battery hold down look like and also what way did the factory install the battery? Negative or positive towards the driver fender ?

Thanks

The early production cars used a strap that went over the battery and held with a bolt to the radiator support and a j-bolt to the tray. Later production 67 radiator supports don't have a threaded hole to hold the early battery hold down clamp. The battery mounts with the negative post by the fender.

^^^ What he said. And the really long bolt didn't have a hook.

Never figured out why Pontiac put the positive post next to the fender. Seems like it would be much safer to have it away from the steel fender.

Thanks guys . Yes my radiator support has the threaded hole for the battery hold down . Also if that’s the case about the positive cable near the fender how does the negative run ? Right over the top of the washer bottle ?

I ran my cable in front of the washer bottle. My car is a late production 67 and has the clamp on the battery tray.
