Thanks!
I was using Seymour Alumiblast, but I ran out, so I shot both those with Rustoleum High Heat Silver. I like the Alumiblast better (they make a great Castblast as well) but didn't feel like driving around looking for it.

My other hardtop has a 400 in it also and it can smoke the tires at will up to about 10 miles per hour.
Something isn't right with your combo.
I hope not. I'm running a Comp Cams #51-208-4 218 / 228 and .308 / .320. The 455 in my LeMans is also a Comp Cams # 51-222-4 218 / 224 and .308 / .313. The LeMans rear end is a 2.73 and that'll smoke the tire(no posi) all day long. The tech dept @ Comp recommended both cams...I'm hoping it's a carb/distributor issue.

Paul for your combo I would kept it at a 210 deg max duration (at .050 lift), with a stock auto trans combo. That's just me, though. For a street car I prefer a cam that will have plenty of low end at the sacrifice of top end. The extra duration on the exhaust side is a good thing though, because Pontiac has a less then ideal 135 degree exit angle through the exhaust ports.
Your car looks nice, but I'm a little disappointed there's no hot babes in the pics -

As I said, I called the tech dept at Comp cams and they recommended that cam. I didn't want top end; where the hell can I drive it wide open? I wanted off the line performance...

I"ll work on getting some hot babes pictures for you! It was way to early for chicks at the beach when I snapped those shots. The surf sure was good that morning though; chest to head high, some slightly bigger sets...it was epic!

I think its maybe a little overcammed. Firebird convertibles are a bit on the porky side.
With the wife being knocked up I aint got much to look at, so post away.
