Questio about engine bearings
I am wondering why do fully grooved main bearings have an oil feed hole on both bearing halves? I don't see a reason for the hole in the bearing on the cap side?

Likely because the manufacturer would spend more time when stopping the production line to remove a the bearing before drilling the hole then the time it takes to drill the hole.
