Default 2nd gen sun visor with mirror

Anyone have one in their car or have seen one? I’ve only ever seen one and it was terrible shape. I pitched it and wish I hadn’t now. Which leads to my next question….

What about an illuminated vanity mirror on a 2nd gen. Didn’t even know that was a thing let along find one but apparently my 77 was equipped with one though it was missing when I bought it.

Never seen a 2nd gen visor with a built in mirror, especially a lighted one... was this an actual RPO option when buying the car new? or dealer installed?

I do have a clip on "pontiac" visor mirror in my 72 firebird i got from another car, think it was a early 70's lemans.

As far as I can tell it was a RPO. It’s listed in my dealer invoice as D64 as I recall.

I should’ve at least taken a picture of the visor I had with the mirror attached. It was REALLY bad though.

I’m reviving this thread for any possible further discussion with my PHS showing the illuminated mirror option listed.

The D34 (RH Visor Vanity Mirror) option was available on a lot of years of Firebirds. It was not available illuminated however until 1976.

I have many saved pics, posted them before but must have been on crashed pages as none seem to come up. Note the way the wiring was fed through the mounts. GM accessory vs GM option versions, in harness or crimped into wiring.

Interesting. I wondered about that as well. Unless I missed it, I couldn’t find anything in the service manual about wiring
