Mid plate was 3/8 aluminum bolted solid to the frame, front held down with saddles and T-bar clamps...

I guess i was more worried about the load from the mount bracket on the side of the block than anything. My current set up is an old style Hurst engine mount that still bolts to side of block and comes forward and has an additional strap that comes up to the head. These pics arent mine but shows how it is installed. I run the front section solid to the frame.

I dont see where it would hurt to have limiters. I have run cars with and without. I have seen some bent up mid plates also. How well everything is constructed and where it mounts to the frame means allot

I wouldn't use the factory mounts or the bosses in the block, especially for racing. I think it puts too much stress on the side, possibly contributing to blocks cracking. Remember, this is the RACE section.
My new 10.0 combo will have a 1/4" Aluminum engine plate BEHIND the timing cover, 1/8" steel midplate from S&W and a poly trans mount. No engine limiters.

But for those of you that use limiters, like someone else said, it can't hurt (unless it is binding, somehow).
