Yes the valve spacing is wider than any other Pontiac head. I believe it's around 2.15.

The early SC heads had stock valve centers. After a "high end" head porter ("in the know") picked up 30 cfm by moving things around Larry incorporated those changes on the later heads.

Those heads do have a nice exhaust port and don't need a big exhaust
