Default Bumper repair

Hello all been a while since I’ve posted but I’d like to start working on my ta again. My question is on the original bumper where the license plate mount was has bubbled feels crunchy behind the hole I assume it’s rusted. Does this make my bumper trash or can it be repaired? Thanks for any help

First go to the backside of the bumper and see if you have rust under the lip of rubber. I clean it, blast it , pick up the rubber a bit, and then use metal ready, or fast etch or soak with vinegar. dry it after an hour, rinse with dx330 wax and grease remover, then once dry, use POR15 on the rusted metal. On the front you may have to cut out a section. Do the same repair, then use some 3m easy sand repair on it and finish like bondo.
Of Course, after its ready, I ONLY recommend SPI for primer.

The rest of the bumper seems perfect on close examination just a 50 cent size around the license plate holes that go all the way through.

So I can just grind the rubber down to the metal encapsulate the rust then fill up with the rubber repair stuff and roll on.

Well, the license bracket uses a rather large sheet metal bolt like 1/4 inch thick. You may have to weld a piece of metal in if you will use the hole again for the mount.
