Default Hood hinge mount thread repair

I’m reinstalling the hood on my 68 Firebird and one of the bolts that hold the hood to the hood hinge is very loose when screwing into the threads in the hood. I have to come up with a repair for this soon. Has anyone here fixed bad threads in a hood before? Looking for some ideas. Seems very thin to Helicoil. Thanks in advance…Todd Hoven

Perhaps step up a little in size by using metric for just that one.
In a pinch I have wrapped copper wire into the threads of bolt.
It will also strip if tightened too much.
If the other 3 are in great shape it may work.
