Default 67 Lemans steel wheels stamped 65 GM

Just took off a set of 5 original steel wheels with hubcaps from a 67 Lemans.

The wheels are stamped near the lug hole 65 GM and have A3 near valve stem hole. They have tires on them so I can't see what is stamped inside.

This is from a 86,000 mile 67 Lemans.

I don't remember paying attention to too many steel wheels before. Thought it seemed unusual for wheels on a 67 to be stamped 65. Maybe they were left over and used later?
What are your thoughts?

My steel rims are stamped same as yours on my 67 gto . I think the actual date code is inside the rim .

That is correct the date code will be stamped on the inner portion of the rim.
These are the 14X5 off my '66 Lemans.

I knew the date was on inside but never paid attention to the stamps in middle of wheel. I knew these were Original to this 67.
When I take tires off I will check out dates.
I'm used to looking at Rally wheels.
Thanks for the info
