Did ‘71 and “72 TA’s have Pilkington glass in them? Did Brewster green have metallic in the paint...?

Some results. That $20,900 was for a car that looks like a modified driver, it's an automatic with a Pontiac 400 which you could not get in '79. Aluminum intake and other mods.

The all glass (all the windows are non tinted) on my 71 trans am says LOF on it.

Hard to say with the quality of these cars being so drastically different from one to the next.
Good deals can be had though if it's small things easily corrected. As long as the hard stuff is there, getting a deal like that and spending ~$5,000 or so correcting things isn't a bad way to go. |

Libbey Owens Ford was the original supplier of glass. It wasn't bought by Pilkington until the mid-1980's. and they continued to use the LOF name for North America until the 2000's when Pilkington itself was bought up.
Pilkington branded '70-81 Fbody glass didn't exist until several decades after car production ended. Pilkington was a UK based glass company back in the 1970's and had nothing to do with LOF then. |
