forgive me P.Y. forum..the Firebird medallion was an original that did not need restoring..until I began to mess with it...easier to just use new plastic repops and save the headaches...I personally recommend Mothers Back To Black on my 40 plus year old dash...awesome product

Default new/old tach.

...awhile back I wanted to hear/fix my clock..thats when disaster struck...I should have just left everything alone as just the clock did not work..so I start to remove the clock and my tach. needle literally just falls off...my fault?..I guess so or was it already compromised??..who knows...on top of all that (I wanted to hear the tic-toc of the clock..not a silent quartz upgrade)..turns out it had a broken gear so I could not have filed the points to repair..but now I need a tach...I secured a tach from 3tas4me (thankyou)...but a later pod..also now I NEED A PRINTED CICUIT FILM ..$79..i WILL SEE HOW THIS TURNS OUT

Default plug mounting on trunk drop off

is this the correct plug and can someone explain how is it mounted?..seam sealered in?..a photo of an original would be a bonus but I need to get it installed...also I can post some better photos but I have this one lone connector(extreme left) coming out of my underdash wiring..does anyone know anything about it??...also if any one needs a 100mph speedo & oil/volt gauges (MINT) and a later pod for a RALLY GAUGE setup...LMK..just pay ship...I also have a new M&H complete tach. wire set up for an H.E.I. distributor and a repop FORMULA underhood light if someone needs it..pay ship

I believe the original plugs had a slight interference fit and seam sealer. 40 years on the repop makers just guess at the size and that is what you get! You could try expanding the plug a little and lots of 3M body sealer. Or search for a larger plug.

Default RECENT CHEESEY CAR SHOWS

so locally there have been some free car shows (assorted makes & models) in Toms River N.J....POINT IS I have not seen other cars in who knows how long...but after seeing a 1973 MACH 1 and a 1969 AM X and other non GM...boy,my boy..do I appreciate not only how well built the 1970-73 Firebird is built better than the competition..I always have said GM was better but I had forgotten what a piece of junk a Mustang really is...gorgeous looking car though...you really see the difference when looking at the engine compartments of these non GM vehicles..also poor interiors..even the first F body puts its competitors to shame...so I just felt I needed to point this out...our cars (really the 1970 -74) put these other "classics" to shame...and let us not forget the big brother A-body..just mo

Glenn,
I thought you meant the wheels also, but if I was next in line, I would take the trim rings instead. Have a set of Honeys that could use them. Let me know by PM.
thanks

Saw quit a few cars at Tipp City but none caught my eye like this Blue Boat. Dry real deal car that pulled a few of us in to learn more. Original 4 speed 421 car that had a trunk that could hold enough beer for a three day weekend

Amen, I just read most of his thread on this car, it's too bad he never got to see it though.

I'm sorry for my ignorance here, I've followed this specific thread from the start. I do more reading than posting. Respectfully, what's happened to Glenn In reading the last few post I am assuming the worst.
