oh!?

this was where the first hand description absolutely trumps a shared picture.

Thank you very much!

Life’s simple pleasures....

Although no one will likely ever see it, I was thrilled to find on ebay a set of glovebox literature in French and published by GM of Canada. As a reminder, the Black Car was “sold” new in London, Ontario under two year lease agreement. Surprisingly the ebay purchase was also shipped with the original bill of sale from the 1972 Lemans Sport that the literature was originally associated with.

I love this kind of stuff!
I found years ago an NOS (sealed) 1970 Firebird owners manual - not the USA version, but the (english) Canadian version!
I have tried to find any and all types of correct year literature for my car.
I scored some of it from the glove box of a 1970 Buick - I hope to one day find similar items for a Pontiac:

Nice find! The brochure on the top left, which says "Garantie", is it English on one side and French on the other? I have the one from my 71 t/a sold new in Ontario Canada, and mine is both English and French. I also have the original owners manual and it's in English, but it's different than the American one (I have one of those too). My original consumer information brochure is in English.

So MPD and I have been spending time getting the Black Car ready for POCI. Today we started buffing out the fabulous paint that Darrell Davidson and the Supercar crew laid down. Two passes with the Flex DA are done. The first using Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover and the second using Wolfgang Finishing Glaze. One pass left to go with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. It looks incredible already - like a mirror. Can’t wait to get it finished.

So, you'll be at the Wisconsin Dells in June? I plan on being there on Wednesday.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I am lucky to have a friend like MPD. It’s great to have his company and capabilities, and it makes jobs like this so much easier. Yesterday, in fact, the Hot Rod Garage announced the winner of the Employee of the Year award and MPD was thrilled to receive this honor.

He will be coming to POCI and looks forward to seeing everyone. Be sure to congratulate him on his distinguished recognition when you see him.

Might want to trim your nose hairs before taking those kinds of reflective photos Bob! Wow - that thing is already like a mirror and one more stage to go - nice work! Wish I was joining you guys at POCI. See you in Dayton for the NATS.

BJ

Hah BJ, you sound like my wife. Wish you could make POCI also, but look forward to seeing you at the TA Nats.

Well, I got the last coat on which was Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. This stuff is awesome and the car looks great. I have been over every inch of the car three times now and haven’t found the first flaw in the paint work Darrell did. My hats off to those guys.

There’s only a few things left to do to get the car ready. Here’s a few pics.
