Default Replacing door speaker cover

I finally found a good used lower speaker cover. Does anyone have any tips on removing the door panel (driver's side) and replacing the cover?

This is a late response but I just noticed the question. Sorry if its all too late....

1. Put the window fully down.

2. Gently pull the cover away from where the exterior mirror is attached.

3. Lift the interior door lock button up and see the little tab which you push in and then pull the whole (plastic) button out.

4. Use a small sharp screwdriver to pull the cover off the hidden screw just under the interior door handle and remove the screw.

5. Remove the 5 or 6 screws around the perimeter of the door trim. 3 or 4 are at the bottom of the door trim. Lie on the ground and they are easily seen. Don't take out the screws with the wide flat washer behind them.

6. Grasp the door trim and pull it away from the door frame slightly then lift it upwards and away from the door.

7. Be careful that you don't pull out the mirror adjustment wires if you are attacking the drivers side. Also remove the speaker and courtesy light wires as you lift the door trim away.

To remove the speaker grille, gently prise the star washers off and lift out the grille.

TO REINSTALL, it's just a reversal of the removal procedure but ENSURE when you put the trim back in place that the metal tab behind the door pull, properly slips into place. It needs to engage into the back of the door pull so when you pull the door closed you are really pulling on the whole door, not just the door trim.

Good luck

Ian
