Thanks Damien. I haven't had a chance to touch it since I parked it that evening.

I just got an email from officials that my Lemans got a 3rd place award but they forgot to call my name. Not exactly sure how that happened, but happy to be getting a momento of the day regardless.
Greg I think Open is convertibles and Closed is coupes.

Yeah, I just got an email too. He attached my judging sheet and gave me a contact # to arrange a time to pick up whatever it is you get for third place. I've never won anything so whatever it is, I'm going to get it for my mancave...lol
If you want, I can pick yours up too Walt. PS- If open and closed means what you say Walt, we won the same thing!

I didn't get a judging sheet and not sure I really want one. I built the car for driving and an occasional visit to the drag strip, not for car shows, and I am happy with it just as it is. Though a new top is still on the to-do list...
Thanks for the offer Greg but they are going to mail it to me since I am a long way from Atlanta. Since my car is a Lemans I was in a non-performance class. They didn't have a class for stock-looking "sleepers"

The Judging sheet was interesting to me because I'm just curious. I know I did not build my car to be stock in appearance or performance. I always say "I'm aiming for 1979"...That's why I was curious as to what they picked out. I don't plan to change anything based on it....but I was right.... it IS interesting.

Congrats guys! Just FYI, in the past if two cars were very close in the judging we generally tied them. So you both would have been given that award. Maybe I should check my email. LOL!!

What's funny is that this was hosted by the Buick (or Olds?) club and here we have so far, two Pontiacs that placed. Considering there were definitely some nicer A-body Pontiacs there than mine, I'm thinking there were some other Pontiacs that placed higher. Maybe even 1st place.

We stayed through about half of the awards before deciding that it was getting too late. At times it had an "Olympics medal count" air to it, with the GTO club guys hooting whenever a Pontiac took an award, and the clubs for the other makes doing the same. All in fun.
I wasn't counting and couldn't say who won what, but Pontiacs seemed to get their share at least during the time we were there.

Well, as I recall, they were supposed to judge at 3pm or so and I think I left at about 4:30pm, assuming all of that was long over. Not that I had any concern about it at all. I was just there for the fun of it.
Another thing I noticed was that they were calling out raffle numbers and I never got a number or anything else after I registered. It was just, 'You park down in that area'....lol

Mine arrived in the mail yesterday and its already displayed on the shelf in my home office. Maybe not the biggest but definitely the most colorful plaque I've ever gotten
Already looking forward to next year. I'll have the T/A ready for a long road trip by then.
