I normally use Glasurit, but their version of TG sucks. too close to original actually. I still have quite a bit of original paint under the sill plates and so forth. no way around it the original TG wasn't very flashy.

This is base/clear correct ?

It is as close as we could find. I can post the details I’d you like. Looks more bronze in sunlight, gold under shop lights

For anyone that has any interest this is that color indoor/outdoor at the same time. It definitely changes. No edits/filters on the pics

Pics were taken 60 sec apart

Slowly coming along, my painter kind of got busy and put me on the back burner. as soon as he gets done I have everything ready to put the car back together so it will go fast.

Well we're gaining. I'm starting to wish I had taken it somewhere else but honestly around here I don't know where. he'll do a great job at a good price but I wasn't planning on losing an extra year. final blocking and shooting it are all that's left but at this rate that may be another year.

Well that might help. one thing about it I have everything restored and ready to go back on when I get it back so it will go fast. Trim is restored, bumpers rechromed , engine rebuilt and detailed, tranny , seats everything.

Haven't really got there yet. my painter was the BASF paint rep for years and he has full access to the mix station so he says we'll mix what we want when he's ready to shoot it. I showed him some pictures of what I'm thinking and he says no problem.

Well believe it or not I'm still around and the '66 is still sitting in primer. I finally got my painter to admit he's never going to finish it so I'm taking it to another guy I talked into wrapping it up. so hopefully I'll have progress to report.

I'm still looking at golds since obviously I haven't needed a base coat yet. so if in the last few years anyone has any new leads on a prettier tiger Gold I'm still looking. I think I'm going to try to come up with a good base/clear rendition of 78-79 Pontiac Solar gold and look at that. Mercedes has an ikon Gold that is interesting too.

I will post some pictures of a Chevy pickup, here soon. The color is 2008 BMW Ontario Gold code U57. I may have mentioned this somewhere before. but I will post pictures of the finished vehicle. It may be of interest.
I own a 1968 Chevrolet C-10 pickup. 1968 was the 50th anniversary of the chevy pickup. They used a Gold color on some of their pickups to entice buyers to the showrooms. Other than that, it's just another color that was added to the color selection for that year.
I believe the color is Tiger Gold..........I do't like it at all. I'm a long way from a paint job, but like this BMW color, especially after seeing it on the vehicle...
Will post pictures later...
