Got to drive it yesterday & ran some errands. Have done about 300 miles on it so far. I'm on vacation all week, but we're going to Vegas tomorrow morning. I guess I'll get some work done when I get back. Got several things that need gone over, but for the most part, it runs great.

I need sway bars in a bad way! I have a stock 7/8" front for it, but I want to upgrade to either 1.125" or 1.250". Anybody got some insight on which to run? Eventually, I want to add a rear as well.

From what I understand, the heavier the bar doesn’t necessarily mean better handling. I think it depends on what suspension set up (or changes from stock) you have and the wheel and tire combo. I’ve also been told that going from nothing in the rear to actually having sway bar is like night and day.

My car is all stock and have no rear sway bar.

Call PST and/or Hotchkins (?) and ask the tech guys. I've dealt with both, they seem fairly knowledgable - go from there.

Add a 2nd Gen WS6 front and a stock 7/8's in back. Will make a world of difference.

2nd Gen WS6 is the 1.25" bar?

I have access to a 7/8" rear bar. I will get ahold of it. I guess I will need to modify my lower control arms to make it fit. Mine are the original arms to the car.

I would take off the originals and place them away and buy some new arms. If your concerned about originality, then new replacement arms are available from our host or www.bmrfabrication.com has some nice replacement parts.

I'm not an authority by any definition, I've had my '66 GTO for 2 days now. My antenna is on the passenger side rear quarter, I notice yours is on the front. Is mine correct or is yours?

Front was a manual antenna, rear was a power antenna, slanted off the rear, looks like a fishing pole when extended So both correct just which option you have. Front was standard with a radio.

I got about 500 miles on it now. Runs great. Got most of the bugs worked out. I'm gonna put it in the local World of Wheels/Autorama in Feb 09, so I need to get some work done. Mainly the wheels & beltline mldgs, and then try to finish the A/C install. I might try to refinish the console, but it looks fine without it.

I ordered a pair of Wheel vintiques series 62's in 15x8. I'm gonna see how well they fit. They have 4.25" BS, but I really think I need 4.75". at least I can try them & go from there. Summit will take 'em back if they don't work

Can you post a picture or link? Thanks...

Summit will take them back if they don't fit? Should've done that with my Torq Thrust D's that didn't fit the LeMans...

Summit has never given me any trouble when trying to return an item.

As long as a tire isn't mounted on it, they should take it back.

Thanks for the link...I purchased a set of Torq Thrust 15" and BFG's (mounted) from Summit...they didn't fit, and I gouged the hell out of them, but now they're on the Firebird and they fit fine but I'm thinking a set of 16" Rallye II's would've looked much nicer...oh well...

Sweet car and cool story

Marcus at SC@C told me to run the stock front bar and an a/m 1" rear bar. He says I may need more bar but try it first with the stock one. 80% of the time that all these cars need.

Very nice wheels. I like that no nonsense muscle look. Post pics when you get 'em on please.

Decided to start the GTO today, pull it outside & let it idle for a while. At that point, I thought I would see if it would go up my driveway in the snow & get some pics. This is the most it'll ever be in the snow as long as I own it.

I can't wait for spring. I wanna put some miles on this thing.
