I bought it.....you and I have talked a few times, but you may have forgotten.

After I went through it, and set it up as a street car, Hot Rod was going to put it on cover, but the 69 Camaro body came out, and it got bumped for that story....around 2006/07 thereabouts.

Hot Rod official pic below......new 505 that was shipped in car from CA was FUBAR....

I sold to an old man about 7/8 years back who is now in his 80's, and he did his thing, had someone go back through engine, and said he had "the right rings installed" then drove it on the street every Sunday for coffee.

I ran into someone I know a few weeks ago who lives 1/2 mile through the woods from this elderly man who says it may be for sale.......they had been to his shop and saw it within the last year.

I will inquire and post back, but may take some time......I rarely come on here/read content anymore.

Hot Rod did do a story on the car along the theme of first pump gas Pontiac at 742 hp, iirc.

Is that a misprint?

There was an article on the engine build in either Engine Masters or Hot Rod Engines maybe ten years ago. I have it so will try to find it or the link to it.

when did the grill change? One pic shows a 72 grill and simmons pic shows a 73 grill. Neat car by the way.

Love the first picture of it in the garage with the 73 front end, it looks like a straight and smooth paint job.

The 505 build was covered in the fall 2006 Hot Rod Engines magazine. 740 hp pump gas build.
The picture above with engine on hoist in front of car is in that article

We mini tubbed it and did the cage at a buddies house in two weeks two full weekends and after work during the week.I put the rack in it while it was apart being painted the next year. The nice thing about putting the rack in was you can use 2nd gen fbody headers and not have to dent the tubes in for them to fit.
