1965 Lemans w/389 ?
I was paging through the Ames Catalog today and noticed a front fender flag for 1965 Lemans showing 389ci (Pg 97 part C101EJ).
I cant recall seeing a 1965 Lemans or Tempest with a 389 tag on it, maybe because it looks just like the 326 font.... So did Pontiac build a NON-GTO optioned Lemans with a 389 from the factory in 1965? And did they use these 389 tags on the front fender just behind the front lights? If they do exist: Does any one have Pics of one ? Any Production numbers out there? Thanks Frank T |

Only the GTO had the 389 engine as part of the option package.
The emblem you’ve described is an aftermarket offering only, not factory.
