Default Camshaft Question Interchangeable

Hi

Dumb question but is a hydraulic FT Pontiac camshaft say for a 350/400/428/455 interchangeable with a Chevrolet camshaft say for a small block 350/383/400, or say a big block chevy 396/454?

I assume no all accounts, probably the snout of cam is what is different and or distributor gear location on stick.

curious if big block and small block chevy hydraulic flat's can be swapped between them?

No, don’t even waste time thinking along those lines.

Couldn’t be more different.

Absolutely no.

Pretty much nothing is interchangeable between Buick, Chevy, Olds. Cadillac and Pontiac V8s other than the distributor caps and carburetors.

Each brand designed their own completely different engines.
