63 Pontiac...LOL! How about this...the NOS exhaust supports (hangers) are now black phos plated! Pretty neat, huh? Unfortunately, Dan is waiting for the front end to be painted, the Waldron exhaust system to be made, and some back-ordered steering wheel parts to complete it's installation. He's frustrated having to wait, but he's got other projects to work on (mine!). Hopefully there is something more substantial to report on soon.

Keep moving forward! I've been following this thread all along as my first Pontiac was a '68 Catalina, Verdero Green w\ a black bench seat interior so I've got a soft spot for them. Mine was a 2 dr hardtop, 400\th400 and a rust bucket back in the mid 80's. Can't wait to see the finished product!

The reupholstery of the seats is supposed to be done now and the Waldron exhaust as well, so we're hoping to pick them up this week or next.

Got the Waldron exhaust back home to install. It is their 'performance' system with all 2-1/4" pipe and lower back pressure mufflers (14" & 17" case lengths) without the tailpipe resonators. Still waiting for the interior, except Dan installed a new repro wood wheel which adds a nice color and brightness contrast against the vast blackness.

I really like that steering wheel, it's a lot nicer than the regular one.

The Waldron exhaust being test fit on the Catalina and it fits like a glove.

Nice! I wish Waldron would stop using those darn stickers that just don't want to come off ;-)

It looks like stock 2 1/4" headpipes but I see that the muffler inlet stays 2 1/4" rather than the factory reduction to 2".
I'm not sure of 68 but in 69 the HO tailpipes were only 2" and the non H/O dual tailpipes were 1 3/4"!

Hey John...thanks! No, it's only 2-1/4". They don't bend 2-1/2" it seems. Dan had them bend a 2-1/4" system full length, otherwise, it would have been only 2", or 2-1/8"! Choke city!

Looks great. What a sweet car. Fun following this along start to finish. The unequal size muffler cases right to left are interesting. Can't recall ever seeing that. Exhaust fits perfect, tailpipes perfect.

We're waiting for the front end to be painted (need to push that), the seat upholstery to be finished (need to push that too), and filling the fluids.
