Default It finally happened

After 20 years and 363741 miles my Yukon had a complete electrical meltdown. It went completely crazy and was running the blower motor with it off and the key out, the gauges went dead the only thing working by the time I got to the dealership was the radio. They gave me 700 dollars trade in. I got a 2010 Escalade ESV with a 3 year 60000 mile warranty for 10800. It’s in perfect shape except for the chrome on the hood bar is flaking. I feel like I got a good deal. Anyone have experience with the 6.2? It has 145000 miles on it

While we would all like our vehicles to run forever, I'm thinking that after all those miles, that truck owes you nothing.

Oh I agree. I got my money’s worth out of it time and time again. Still was holding 40 pounds of pressure at idle till the **** hit the fan this morning. Because of its overall good condition the dealership still gave me 700 for it LOK.

They really didn't give you a dime for it. They just sold it for what they would have sold it to you without a trade.

Seriously - overall condition of a 364,000 mile vehicle that just had an electrical meltdown doesn't increase the value one bit. Scrap value is in the toilet right now.

Yeah pretty much there was no negotiation they just took 700 off the sticker. I wasn’t really in a position to haggle seeing as how I rode in with nothing but a radio playing

Well, I hope you didn’t sink the money for a new battery!

Good luck with your new vehicle!

The 6.2 Vortec does not have AFM, so the oil burning issues of some of the 5.3 engines of that period are rare in the 6.2. It's a solid, yet thirsty engine, but some do have cold piston slap noise.

I've owned 4 different 6.2's since 2002. And still own one. I loved them all. As stated, they are thirsty but if you stay out of it it's not much different than a 5.3. Some of the earlier 6.2's in Escalades required premium fuel, but I believe by 2010 they run on regular fine.

Yeah the dealer filled it up with 87. I will see what 93 does when I fill it up

2010 takes regular. Nothing but wasted money putting 93 in a vehicle designed to run on 87.

$700 and a Full tank of Gas - i'd call it a Good Day

3 year warranty on a 10 year old vehicle with unknown history was a great thing too
