HA....I've lived just outside of Boston for 58 years. I've seen 60's Mustangs literally fall apart. I've had A body parts cars where your could not use sockets and wrenches to remove parts!! This ebay gem is a VIN tag and body tag to be carefully laid onto a rust free Lemans body. Poof, an HO is born

Yup, Boston is pretty much in the salt belt epicenter, with a little ocean salt air and humidity thrown in for extra fun.

I recall parting out a 69 ragtop in about 1980. It was a 49,000 mile one owner car but he lived in an apartment building with a nice heated parking garage. When we Tried to tow it the rear bumper and frame rails came off. So we pushed the car out into the parking lot and hooked her up in the front. As I lifted the frame let go just behind the front wheels on both sides. The windshield popped and both door windows exploded. It had a bench seat that had fallen through the floor and the central boxed frame rails came apart in our hands in French toast looking chunks.. one of the dual snorkels had fallen off the air cleaner and dissolved into the intake. The car must have had 100 pounds of bondo in it, the trunk lid rear lip was probably an inch thick.

He had only driven the car about 5 years (it had 74 plates on it) but that nightly parking in that heated garage supercharged the nightly coating of frozen salty slush Into a steel evaporating super villain!

Btw, I still have the factory dash tach and rally cluster from that car. Still on a shelf, too crusty to ever use but can’t throw it out!

If I had the room, I’d seriously be calling on and probably road tripping to see that car. I showed my wife, her short reply “Go get that car”. Hmmm.....picked the right wife at least.
