All the mechanical parts are new front to back.
New aluminum radiator
Rebuilt 67 400 Pontiac stock bore stock crank, multi-angle valve job with mild bowl work/cleanup 224/236 @ .050 cam, rebuilt 750 Holley DP, Sanderson headers.
Rebuilt 700 R4 trans with deep cooling pan, 2800 TCI convertor

New Firestone ribbed narrow bias ply tires in front on Fenton Hawk mags
Basically everything is new that you can't see from the exterior other than the wheels/tires.
Car needs some minor tinkering before it goes to the track, and will need exhaust if your putting it on the street.
If you have questions, email me here> stg1_miller@frontier.com
Car is in southern Michigan near Indiana border 49093 zip

Asking $7500 as-is, or will consider selling rolling, with or without tires/wheels

I'm looking for a 2dr 62-65 Dodge or Plymouth B-body, if by chance you have a 2dr 62-65 Dodge or Plymouth B-body, I would talk some type of trade, yours doesn't need to run. Not interested in any other cars, Thank You.

Original engine/trans was long gone. Previous owner had pulled the 370, took the tri-power and installed it on a bored and stroked 389 and bracket raced the car for a couple years before parking it in the barn.

NEW PRICE--$6700..........You can't build it for this, or duplicate an authentic Junior stock drag car with history.

Question

I guess if it sells, it sells. If not, I'll finish it.
Lot's of request's for more pics, only to have them tell me..."sorry, it's in worse shape than I thought"????????????

I thought the pics that have been posted showed what needed to be seen?

I could always weld a patch in the fender, and a couple small ones in the quarters, then strip the car, and put it in primer....then take a razor blade and scrape all the decals off the windows, then it will be just another 58 Pontiac with no ties to it's past?

I guess I was thinking there would be more interest in this type of car?

It surely can't be my price, cause at $6700, I'm breaking even in the cash that has been spent, and getting zero for labor,as usual.

If a person hasn't built a car lately, you will be shocked(as I am) at how much the cost of parts has gone up(inflation) over the past couple years.
It's all the little stuff that add's up to give you a one-two sucker punch in the wallet. All the belts,hoses,plugs,wires,clamps,oil,anti-freeze,etc.
Hell, a cheap battery is 100-115 bucks, $225 aluminum radiator, probably close to $100 just in damn spray paint.
Not to mention the bigger stuff, completely rebuilt 400 with a competition valve job, a completely rebuilt 700 r4 trans with TCI convertor, heavy duty Corvette/Escalade reation shell(sun shell),heavy duty reverse roller clutch(also from escalade),$125 deep cooling pan with cooling tubes, new lightweight starter, rebuilt 750 Holley Double Pumper, 9 3/8 rebuilt Posi unit, all new brakes, new lines, new tires, new gas tank,etc.,etc.
The receipts add up fast.

Maybe I need to be more open to trades, or partial trades?

It's a kick a$$ piece and looks to be worth the money and I agree with you, don't touch the car. If anything, gently wash it with CLR and flat clear it. Looks rougher than most would like for a patina car, but with the racing items on the car, leave it alone!!

Good luck!!

June 1st BUMP

New carpet installed, cleaned-up the seats, making a package tray, all should be done this weekend.

Last call at this price, thinking of going for front end alignment and exhaust next week, and the price will be adjusted to cover the expenses.

Congrats on the sale Tom. Wish you could have had that beast at the 2013 Meltdown before you sold it. I was looking forward in watching it make some passes.
