The only thing that has changed is that there is no file size limitation in the "Manage Attachments" option (the forums resizes the pictures for you).
The "Manage Attachments" option will get displayed as a thumbnail that members will have to click to view in full size.

What you are asking for will require the other method. You'll have to post the picture somewhere else on the internet (ie. on your own website or a picture sharing site like photobucket). You can click the square yellow icon (labeled "Insert Image") in the message editor to automatically create the [IMG] tags for you.

Give it a try and let me know if you run into problems.

Steve
Thanks for replying Steve.
I do understand 2 of the 3 parts to perform this.

1. I understand about something from another site and I did start a photobucket account ( though I may not need it with my own site)

2. I found the yellow square icon and got the small window to add the insert.

3. that is the part I am not understanding. I guess I cannot figure out how to get the image from photobucket to PY.

any ideas? I am sure it is right in front of me but, cannot figure it out.

Steve

Steve
Photobucket does a lot of the work for you. Have a look at the "Share this image" section on the left column on Photobucket. Photobucket provides 4 kinds of links for you. The easiest option for you will be to click the last link (IMG code). It will automatically copy it for you. Then you can just paste it into your post on the Forums (do NOT use the Yellow "Insert Image" icon in this case because Photobucket has already done that for you).

If you are adding a picture that is on your own site, you will want to use the yellow "Insert Image" icon. The URL you want to put in should start with http://...

Give it a try.

Do you have a bigger version, I can't quite make out Jim's ear-hair in the one you posted Just Kidding

It looks like you got it figured out. Good job.

LOL

I am so grateful for you to take the time to help me on this! thanks soooooooo much.
Of course, like most things in life, once you know how to do something, it is easy.

Now, I have to figure out the sizing.

I am very grateful.

Steve,
I just get them on Photobucket, click on the picture so it blows up and then put the mouse up at the top of the pic and use their resize options that pop up to get it to the size I like for presentation.

When you do it like that, just come back here and hit F5 to see how you like the sizing.

800 X 600

1024 X 768

Charles

If you open up the "bulk uploader" on photobucket then on the bottom left of the page you will see max image size. To the right of that you can click on more options. Then you can set the max size of your uploads I have mine set at 640px X 480px. Which is perfect size for forums and I don't have to resize.
