Default Picture in Signature

I can't get my signature picture to show up with my posts. When I go into the edit signature fuction under the User CP, I can see the picture. However, it does not show up in posts.

Any suggestions?

Hopefully someone will let us know. Good luck with that new motor. It sounded great in the video. Those tires look too narrow for that power...

like this?
your pcs must be loaded on a photo site on the www
i use photobucket
once thats done,,reply to a thread and look at top,,theres a envelope looking icon called
''insert image
on the photo site theres a image link to the photo,,,copy that to the''insert image'' box
the coding for the image i posted above looks like this but has a [ at the beginning of the pic and a ] at the end
---]IMG]http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e152/wytnyt123/img391.jpg[/IMG[
the above brackets are reversed to show it to you and not load the pic
same procedure works for signature pics too

Where is it saying invalid file? What screen are you on when it gives you that message?

GR8ONE68 got it to work using wytnyt's method.

I'm still trying to figure out why it doesn't seem to be working with the uploaded signature picture in the UserCP.

I was originally trying to do it through the upload on the user control panel. I could see it in the control panel, however, it would not show up on my posts. I created a Photo Bucket account, uploaded the picture, copied the address of the picture and pasted it into the signature as WYTNYT suggested and it worked.

I deleted the picture that I had uploaded. I put the url in the brackets, and hit save.

I just added a pic to mine. I used the "upload image from your computer" option. Note the size limitation.

It threw me at first too because like GR8ONE68 said, it shows in the CP, but not in your messages. You have to click "insert signature picture" which inserts the code.

I am guessing that your image is too big. Do you have a way of resizing it?

Edit: After doing some experimenting, it appeares that the upload option will resize the image for you. I did notice however, that using WYTNYT's method I can add a larger image.

Do you see your image like above just without the "insert" link?

Grandville455:
It looks like you are almost there. I see that you managed to get the picture uploaded as your signature picture. From there you should just need to click the text next to the picture that says "Insert Signature Picture".
You said above that you didn't see that link. If that is true and you still don't see the link, you can add it manually to your signature field a little higher on the screen.
Here is the text you need to add somewhere in the signature field:

[ SIGPIC][/ SIGPIC]

Except I pit a space in front of the 2 S's so that is displays so you can see it. You will need to remove the spaces in front of the S's.

Steve
