'62 4cyl/auto Crank Seal
Anyone ever try replacing the factory rope with a 2pc BOP viton seal with the 4cyl engine still in car on tempest?
- can you get the oil pan off in car? - if not, to make room, can you jack up the engine a few inches with the torquetube still attached? Or will that risk cracking it? - if engine needs to come out, what are best 4cyl anchor balance points for the chain sling? Back of head/ front of head 3/8 bolts? |

Best to pull the motor. Use the new BOP 1 piece seal.

Thanks. Do you need to fully remove the crank for the 1pc BOP seal, or can you get it in just lifting the crank a little?
I have the 2pc seal (new in package) and it does not flex at all. |

Chris,im 50/50 with the 2pc BOP seal.Im 100% with the 1 pc BOP and the Best gasket rope seal. The 1 pc seal is pretty much a 2 man job and the crank needs to be more than just lifted IMO.Tom
