Default 7 blade clutch fan

when years did these come on the trans am ,can i install one on my 72 formula.my friend has on for sale
my has a/c

Not sure of the exact year for them, but yes you can use one on a 72 or any other 70's pontiac if you want... I have one on my 72 with a 400/467 & mid 70's accessory brackets.

That "looks" like it will work if you are using the common mid 70's brackets, some earlier brkts may be different. Maybe someone else can confirm based on the part# of the fan but from my experience any 350-455 mid 70's 7 blade fan will work on most model cars including 2nd gen firebirds.

Also should be easy to test fit it, if it sits about half way in/out of the shroud it will work.

I put one of these on my ‘73;
As I recall, I pulled it off a Ponti-yacht.

the biggest PITA was getting the mounting studs off the car donating the clutch fan - then installing them on the ‘73;
Radiators and knuckles don’t get along very well!

1991 Grand Am: 14.4 @ 93.7mph (DA corrected) (retired DD, stock appearing)
2009 Cobalt SS: 13.9 @ 103mph (current DD; makes something north of 300hp & 350ft/lbs)
