Hi everyone ! I buy and sell Pontiac motors to help a Pontiac Enthusiast and make a buck at the same time (MOSTLY 455's).Here are some different engine bays where I found some of my motors: 69 GP 428 in a 78 chevy van
71 455 2 barrel in a 70 Camaro
70 RAMAIR III WS 400 in a 75 TA
70 GP 455 in a 75 TA as well
73 SD455 block and heads that were going to be installed in a 65 GTO (The guy sold the car as a rolling chassis and I scouped the SD parts)
78 W72 400 from TA in same year GP.
I would love to hear some of you guys stories of whereabout your engines came from !

Plus a variety of Pontiac engines in my mini-rod pulling tractor.

I've seen a few odd-balls.

I bought a 71 T/A that was wrecked and a 78 GMC pickup that was home to the original 455HO out of the T/A.

I pulled a 70 Ram III WS out of a 73 Z-28 years ago.

I saw a front end loader running a 71 455 Pontiac. It had a home-made adapter plate.

I saw a 70 Ram III powering a speed boat.

What luck!!! Did you find the Pick-up in the same area as the 71 TA? Me I also found some rare ponchos here in the Canadian prairies:

64 Ambulance with 389 as well. Didn't buy any of that. By the way I have been to North Carolina (Cape Hatteras)over 20 years ago when I was a teen,loved it! Keep bringing the stories

3rd times the charm deal:

About 5 years ago a coworker asks me if I want to buy an old pontiac wagon from his dad. Says its got the 428 motor. Of course I jumped at it. Car was a '67 Bonny station wagon, special ordered with 428, TH400, posi rear end, 4-piston brakes. Was used as a tow/delivery vehicle by the guy's dad. Well I got there and realized the 428 was gone, and had been replaced with a '67 400. The owner says: Yeah, that 428 threw a rod at the block at about 375,000 miles. They found a '67 400 from a wrecked catalina, reringed it and swapped it in. They drove the car for another 100K before parking it, because the delco-moraine 4-piston brakes gave out.

I bought the car for $100. 400 would crank and run. The posi rear end was gone, replaced with something else. That engine was smoking, but would still boil the tire on that wagon. The wagon was wrecked and rusty, so I parted it out and pulled the motor. The motor was standard bore, absolutely perfect block. I pickled it and put it in storage.

Fast forward to this year. I had a '67 Lemans with a 350 pontiac in it. I built that 400 to the hilt and dropped it off in the LeMans. I figure the motors been in 3 '67 cars, and the car has had 3 motors. So, third time's the charm.

The wildest thing I have ever seen with a Pontiac motor. There is a die-hard Pontiac guy that has a wrecking yard near Charlottesville,Va and he has a piece of equipment that was originally used to load baggage on an airplane that he has built a lift to pull motors and powering it is a 350 Pontiac motor. He calls it the "Junk-o-matic". You just kinda jump on the sides of this thing as he drives you through the yard.

My opinion, the Pontiac into anything else just improved the vehicle 1000%. As a dumb kid, not much smarter now though, I transplanted a 76 400 from a Catalina into my 71 F100. Actually a pretty easy swap. Trucks long gone now, still have the motor. And as I said,not much smarter now, so the 69 rust free F100 with the dead 200 six is waiting for a heart transplant. Not much of a Ford guy, motor wise but I like their old trucks. Maybe cause the 71 was one of my first rides. Course back then it had the original 302 then a 390, then the 400 Pontiac. I'd say I would buy a Pontiac truck if they made one but then again I see the way Pontiacs going and they probably will build one, but it won't have the Pontiac engine sooooo, Looks like I'll stay with my F series. Pontiacified of course.

i saw a 455 in a fiat in fayetteville ga at a cruise night,seen a 50's model school bus in a junkyard it had a pontiac motor i guess it was a 370 cu in,found a 69 catalina in a junkyard with the original 400 in it with "64" casting heads and a 2 barrel carb and the odd ball of the year, a friend of mine dad put a 72 455 in a 66 ford pickup truck and he put a 440 six pack engine in a 68 camaro

Around 1980, I installed '70 455 from an SJ Grand Prix in '70 Olds Starfire that came with a 231 Buick engine. It was almost a bolt in. I used a Pontiac clutch set and the original bell housing and clutch cable as well as the old Borg Warner 4 speed. I used bigger springs and moved the radiator forward and leaned it back like a Vette. I added two larger heater cores mounted behind the headlights for additional cooling. Man that rig was handful but fun!!

This is kind of the other way around, but there's a guy I'm friends with and his dad runs a local repair shop. One of the guys working for him put in a 1955 turbo fire V8 (yes, the 1st year chevy made a small block)....

....into a 1983 Grand Prix. How he did it I have no idea. Supposedly he races it at the track.


I think what would be really awesome is if somebody could figure out how to stuff a traditional carburated Pontiac engine into a Fiero. Now that would be AWESOME.

428 Pontiac/Turbo 400 into a 57 T-Bird.
This guy also replaced the Ford front suspension with a Pontiac front suspension.
I saw this car in the 70s, it was in the Pittsburgh area.
I would love to find that car now!

Top this one...I helped my uncle install a 400 Poncho from a mid-70s GP into his CAT bulldozer. Let me tell you, that thing would run like crazy. He eventually sold the dozer with the poncho still in it, the motor was too light and the dozer wouldn't push squat. Plus it went through a ton of cheap gas running at 3500rpms all the time.

Also helped the same uncle swap a 455 Poncho into his 198? Olds Cutlass, which was a diesel from the factory. That was a major swap, including the whole fuel system. He must have gone through 10 sets of rear tires before dumping the Cutlass. But we pulled the Poncho first and stuck it in friend's Choo-Choo custom 1984 El Camino.

There is someone here in Kenosha that has a Pacer hatchback drag car all tubbed out and runs Pontiac power.
