SIZE 12 TOP!!!!! I'd be swimming in a size that large! Everything would be out in the open...... OH! I get it now!

Nice try, Mike! Have to get out of your funk some other way!

I personally really like those cars. I prefer it to some of the heavy 2nd Gen F-Bodies.
Something about that GTO name jinxes anything that the GTO faithful deem unworthy.
Look at the SS Nova. One of "Chevy-doms" most popular cars but somehow we Pontiac faithful largely reject the Venturas. If they just hadn't hung that GTO name on it...
I'd do it as a sleeper...Original color with the Sprint stripe and a 400 engine. It'd be a giant-killer.

Everytime Rob and I go racing, he gets lots of comments on his car. There are just so few out there. So you wrote exactly what we are planning to do with mine. It was originally green with yellow Sprint striping. Rob is planning on putting a 400 stroker motor in it to begin with. Then once I am tearing up the strip.. We'll get more power...

Enjoy!

Tried peeling the paint off of the driver's side fender and all I got off was the primer someone had painted ON TOP of the original paint...

Nothing was moving... gave up for the evening...

Pontiac was looking to compete with Duster/Dart/Demon 340's and Nova SS's with the 74 Ventura GTO. May have been better if came out in '73.

Too many can't get past the X body shell, even though the old GTO's are now lumped into 'GM A body' these days.

A sprint would even be more rare than a 73 GTO. I would restore it the ay it came.

They way I look at it is the pontiac front clips make these cars. The nova front ends are to boring. The rest of the body lines are great. The only thing with 73-74 are the bumpers but this can be fixed. Most people dont even think nova after you open the hood anyway.

What I find amazing about this thread is that this car is indeed a Ventura Sprint and not a GTO even though its titled "My 74 GTO". IMO a Sprint is far more rare and should be left (at least in shell form anyway) a Sprint.

Let me get moved in first, and then I need to get settled in... have more parts to pick up, still need to finish stripping the fenders... and my ass is whooped from the last three days of packing, lifting, moving... and last night was big pieces of furniture...

But yes.. we'll git'er dun... hopefully before racing season starts back up next year...

Pin drop? Not hardly

When you have a little A$$hole running around basically stalking people, following all their threads and making snide little smartass comments still, on what is suppose to be a friendly Pontiac forum, it's really f#ckin creepy, no flat out retarded. And now it ruined a simple thread of someone starting their own project and being proud of what they are doing since it is something they've never done before and are genuinely excited about. Why the hell would someone care what they call their OWN personal car that they are putting their time, sweat, and money in unless they are one big jealous baby or an assclown just looking for someone to scare or intimidate. I'm telling you right now ChicoBoy, give it a rest NOW or I might just get the craving for some Chicago style pizza in the not so distant future and that sh#t tears me up I must warn you!

It's like we all know MA you would like a 69 TA. Now what is the likelihood of you finding one you can actually afford? What are the chances of you making a clone? Would I or anyone else make fun or belittle you for making a clone because it is what YOU want? I seriously doubt it. ( I might a little ) Carole is still learning, like everyone else did, what model is what, what version was a base, which was a custom, which was a GTO etc etc. Hell, most people still think a Ventura is an omega or a nova! So heaven forbid she calls a 74 sprint, (which is about as rare anymore as a 74 GTO) a GTO. Her first exposure to a classic Pontiac was my 74 GTO (which is a clone for all who might care) so she might just be a little bias in her interpretation of a Ventura. And just so everyone knows, HER car will be painted back to it's original color with the original Sprints stripes and more than likely have a shaker hood like a 74 GTO would.
We are going "green" with our "hybrid" Ventura.

Can you still hear the pins dropping??
Or did someone just knock over the entire bolt bin?
